Dear Steve and Mick,

My perspective from the shallow end of the pool:

It is quite amazing that I have the privilege of training under the instruction of great leaders. It is difficult to express and sometimes I am consumed by the crap floating around in my head that I fail to really and truly appreciate the opportunity provided to me by CFX. Thank you.
My spirit is lifted by the seemingly endless energy that you guys put into the place, and especially into the people who frequent it. It fuels the positive energy that lives and breathes there. 

The effort put in by the team in Brisbane brought a real sense of inspiration to me because it made me think about the fact that I have the opportunity to train with and by people who actually get into the arena, as opposed to the complacency that I see going on here all day &#45; we become what (and who) we surround ourselves with &#45; I am working on improving that one.

Thank you for using your talents to build this special place and offer your experience and knowledge to those of us who otherwise would continue to live under the delusion that there is no hope of being something better.

I can’t thank you enough for introducing me to the Crossfit training methods and training me for the past 12 months. After spending hours in the gym working on isolated movements and separating my cardio sessions from weight sessions, I thought I was pretty fit... until I met you.  You pushed me to limits that I never thought I could achieve. Your workouts are always challenging and you constantly help me to push the boundaries. You are a highly motivated trainer which is motivating for me, and just when I’m ready to say “I can’t” you push that little bit harder because you know that I can. You have always been 110% committed to helping me reach my full potential. Thanks to you I am stronger, leaner and fitter  than I have ever been. People around me have noticed the changes and I constantly receive compliments about the way I look, even from strangers. Mentally I am tougher and I now believe in myself the way you believed in me right from the start.
On top of all that, what you have achieved with my son has been incredible. You have turned Joel from a lazy, teenage, overweight couch potato, into a highly motivated young man who is losing weight and loving his daily training regime. Your motivation has brought out the competitive nature in Joel and he is constantly driving himself to achieve his full potential.
Joel and I love the new gym at Kogarah. It’s great to be involved in your daily group training sessions. The atmosphere is always upbeat, friendly and never threatening or intimidating. 
We look forward to continuing our training the Crossfit way.

Was part of a session you conducted for Personal Trainers at Fernwood Jindalee in Brisbane last Friday night and really wanted to thank you.  The training session was great, and i made it through (though it&apos;s Monday now and I&apos;m still having trouble walking without pain!!!) and the information you gave on crossfit, tabata and your general insight into fitness was a great help to me.  I&apos;ve been feeling flat and bored both in my own fitness and my training of clients, but I came away from Friday night with a renewed passion for bringing out the best in myself and in others.  Thank you so much for that!  Anytime you have any other sessions in Brisbane, I would love to be a part of them and continue to learn from you.   I intend to be one of those trainers that really inspire and help people.  I think with the guidance of like minded people like yourself, I&apos;m really going to reach my potential.

Love your training and no excuses style and just by watching you on TV with no change to my diet I have already lost 5 kilos and feel so much more dude.
 
Could just smack the ones that walk out &#45; to be trained by you, Shannon, Michelle , Bob or Jillian is such a gift and they don&apos;t know how lucky they are.

      <description>Have you ever walked into a gym and felt like a “square peg in a round hole”. The machines are confusing, the instructors appear to be unapproachable, the men are grunting with heavy weights and the women are sweating it out on the treadmill and you feel like walking out !. Exercise is suddenly not an option!

Well, that is NOT what happens in Mick’s training sessions. Everyone is made welcome! Mick is warm, friendly and approachable. The training sessions are fun, challenging and designed to meet the individual’s capabilities and needs. Mick’s sessions are tailored to cater for both men and women with various capabilities. Everyone completes the same exercises but the weights used in the exercises vary to meet individual needs.

Mick’s focus is more about form, hence not injuring yourself, and less about finishing first. Mick always encourages you to complete the task to the best of your ability. To this purpose, Mick gives clear concise instructions and follows through with excellent visual demonstrations. For those of us, who don’t understand the first time, he will repeat it patiently until we do get it!. Mick helps each person in his team to reach the potential that he envisions for them. He is always ready with advice, knowledge and motivation.

At the end of each training session I feel that I have achieved more than I could in the previous session. Training with Mick has helped me to be healthier, stronger and more empowered. Mick has encouraged me to challenge myself to achieve fitness goals that I did not think possible.

If I only had one word to describe Mick’s style of training it would be: inspirational!

I just wanted to drop you a line to tell you what an influence you have made in my lifestyle this week (and forever I hope). After the motivational talk you did at Fernwood Rockdale on Tuesday I knew what you said was going to help me make some changes. At Contours today I increased my weights for the first time in two months. I realized that the laziness had me in the grip. The training session went a lot faster and I felt better at the end. Now I have to get a handle on the food. This is my biggest challenge.
 
By the way my boy Brannac had the most popular hat in school on Wednesday morning as they lined up for camp. He was so happy to have had the opportunity to talk to you. I know you were keen to get home to your family so I wanted to say an extra “Thanks” for making the time.
 
We traveled from Ropes Crossing to Rockdale to see you on Tuesday which is just not doable on an average day with all other commitments. When you do achieve your goal of training other like minded people to work for you please send some out west so we can enjoy the benefits! I can challenge anyone.

      <description>Hey Steve, 

    Thanx for the program. I was unsure about the first session, the 2.4km run *clean skin. I ended up doing a run in webbing +2kg in 10:18, so hopefully i can build this up to +7kg &amp; rifle soon. I just wanna say thanx for the help so far, ive lost 6kg in the last month training with you and Mick.  Ive increased my bench, heaves and trunk strength while losing weight and not needing any crazy diets or supplements. I think this is the first time I&apos;ve trained without using any supplements and for example the run last night, i think 9:30 would have been possible. I felt great at the end of it.  Thanx for the crossfit info, its a very different aspect to fitness then what i have previously come across. 

So i just wanted to say thanx, and i&apos;ll see with you guys in a few weeks hopefully alot fitter and stronger.

Your presentation was fantastic…personally, just what I needed.  I walked out full of motivation and information ..and most importantly, with the belief in my ability to reach my goals. A million thanks. 
 
Listening to you speak last night reinforced to me that your philosophy to overall fitness is much more where I need to be. 
 
Thanks again – and good luck with the “Speaking Tour” … and you thought your “Tours of Duty” were over when you re&#45;joined Civi&#45;land ! !
